Positive Words
  • Write down a list of negative words and negative things that you say. This sensitises you to them.
  • Ask your friends and colleagues what they think.
  • Choose the top three.
  • Make up alternative positive words and phrases for each negative phrase.
  • There may be a few for each word or phrase.
  • Practise saying them to yourself in front of the mirror until you get used to them.
  • Use them the next time you would have used the old negative word or phrase. Don't worry, if you don't make it the first few times, keep trying!
  • Add more enthusiasm and conviction into your voice as you say them.
