- Write down a list of negative words and negative things that you say. This sensitises you to them.
- Ask your friends and colleagues what they think.
- Choose the top three.
- Make up alternative positive words and phrases for each negative phrase.
- There may be a few for each word or phrase.
- Practise saying them to yourself in front of the mirror until you get used to them.
- Use them the next time you would have used the old negative word or phrase. Don't worry, if you don't make it the first few times, keep trying!
- Add more enthusiasm and conviction into your voice as you say them.
