Importance
  • Draw an Important/Urgent matrix on a piece of paper.
  • Just before you start a task quickly put a dot in one of the four boxes in the matrix.
  • Do the task anyway.
  • Continue this process for about a week. At the end of the week think about the tasks that fall into the "Not Important" column.
  • Why are you doing these?
  • At the end of the process you will find that you are sensitised to where the majority of your tasks live on the matrix and will be already cutting out the "Not Important" tasks.
  • If this is not the case start making decisions to cut out the "Not Important" tasks one by one.
