clothes pegs

Whilst standing in my back yard a few days ago I noticed that the people next door had left their clothes pegs on their clothes line. This got me thinking.

1. Do they always to that and if so why had I never noticed it before?

2. Which approach is the most efficient for hanging up clothes. Leave the pegs on the line or as I do put them away neatly in the basket?

3. Are there better ways of doing it?

After some thinking about this I realised that although the statement of the problem is very simple the best solution is not immediately obvious.

This is an example of one of the things that we take for granted in life and never really question. We would normally not spot this sort of thing as we are so used to doing things our own way that we don’t even notice how other people do things never mind question which is the best way.

Are there things in your personal or work life that are so deeply entrenched that you do not even know that you are doing them in a certain way?

How could you notice these things if you are not noticing them now?

Oh - and what is the best solution to the situation with the clothes pegs?

Comments please!

  1. Don Braggins Says:

If you leave plastic clothes pegs out all the time, chances are that sunlight will degrade the plastic and they will eventually snap when opened. Wooden pegs are less susceptible.
